"Jessica is an absolutely amazing teacher!! I have been playing the flute since about 1st grade, but I put it down when I began college. A decade later, I wanted to pick it back up, but was absolutely terrified. Jessica is the sweetest and most encouraging person. She has been teaching me since October of last year and I have improved way beyond my expectations. Not just with my sound and technique, but also with my confidence. She makes it fun and makes you want to practice to show her how far you came. I absolutely love her!"

"There are not enough good things to say about my experience with Ms. Jessica and the Positive Playing Studio. I have worked with various other private instructors before but none have provided the unique experience, and the positive atmosphere as Ms. Jessica and the Positive Playing Studio. Not only is Ms. Jessica an incredible flutist, she understands the struggles we go through as students. You can tell Ms. Jessica cares for her students inside and outside the studio and she is someone that I know I can trust when making important decisions for the future. The lessons I have learned from Ms. Jessica are immeasurable and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store. I am extremely grateful that Ms. Jessica has come into my life and I would not be where I am today without her. Coming into high school, I was a confident player, but as soon as I walked through the doors I lost all of my confidence. I met Ms. Jessica through my previous band director once I told him I wanted to be stronger and improve to where I felt my best. Within about ten minutes of my first lesson with Ms. Jessica, I knew this was going to be achieved. I had never really felt a connection with a teacher as quickly as I felt it with Ms. Jessica. Since October 2019, I have improved leaps and bounds that I never thought I was able to do. Ms. Jessica has brought out the best in my playing whether it's technique, playing anxiety, or overall musicianship. Ever since starting my lessons I have really blossomed and become my own musician and began to play for my own benefit, not everyone else.

I have been playing the flute for the past 7 years and I have grown so quickly as a musician in the past few months working with Ms. Jessica than I ever have before. Ms. Jessica provides such a kind space in the chaos of the music world. She knows how to connect with every unique musician to help them grow as a person and into an amazing flute player. Ms. Jessica has a vast amount of music resources that cover everything from fun duets to college repertoire making it very easy to continue on and on to more difficult things. Ms. Jessica shows so much kindness in her studio while also helping you through the hardships of becoming a successful musician. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to what I have learned and will continue to learn in these short few months, studying with Ms. Jessica is definitely worth it!

"I have been performing alongside Jessica for multiple years now in both a large ensemble setting (symphony orchestra) and a small ensemble setting (woodwind quintet). She is an excellent musician with an adaptable style, and always maintains a wonderful tone and sense of musicality. Along with this, Jessica is a fantastic leader, which is shown through her conducting, her playing as a principal flutist, and her involvement in our woodwind quintet. Her dedication is admirable, and as a musician who is younger than she is, I can say that I have learned a lot just by performing alongside her; she has helped me improve in many ways. She always explains her thoughts and ideas clearly, and she is constructive in giving corrections and instructions. I would recommend Jessica as a teacher to anyone who is looking to improve as a musician in both technique and musicality"

When I needed help with a short time notice, Jessica was always there to make sure I was prepared. From calming my nerves, to teaching me new techniques, Jessica was exactly what I needed. When I was not able to see her person, she was even able to video chat with me almost immediately. I love working with her and would recommend her to any student!"
